Community and Environment Committee

The Community and Environment Committee is at the heart of our local outreach, working to bring joy, support, and meaningful connection to people across Brentwood. Through thoughtful projects and partnerships, we aim to uplift lives and foster a spirit of togetherness.

In 2024/2025, under the dedicated leadership of Rotarian Linda Price, the committee delivered several impactful initiatives:

• A magical outing to the Brentwood Theatre for 80 children from SNAP, BOSP, and Homestart, complete with goody bags and festive cheer.
• Support for Perry Blake’s 21Up movement, providing a camera to help document and empower young people in need.
• A heartwarming post-Christmas lunch for volunteers from The Daily Bread Café, bringing comfort and companionship.
• Financial support for a local fundraiser climbing Machu Picchu for The Meningitis Trust.
• Donation of £500 to each of Brentwood's food banks.

Looking ahead to 2025/2026, Rotarian Vicky Davies steps in as Chair with enthusiasm and vision. She plans to continue cherished traditions like the annual pantomime trip and the Colouring Group at The Daily Bread Café, which offers vulnerable adults a safe space for creativity and connection.

Vicky and her team will meet monthly to explore new initiatives, respond to community needs, and ensure Rotary continues to be a visible and positive force in Brentwood. Support for local food banks and other grassroots causes will remain a priority.
