Monthly Charity Virtual Quiz

Every month, we host a Friday night virtual quiz in support of a different charity. These fun and interactive evenings bring together friends, families, and supporters from near and far—all while raising vital funds for a wide range of good causes. Everyone is welcome to join in!

How the Virtual Quiz Works

Step 1 – Register

Teams or individuals can register by:

Step 2 – Joining Information

All registered participants will receive joining instructions, including:

  • The Zoom meeting link
  • Their team name and number

Step 3 – Joining the Quiz

  • The virtual doors will open 1 hour before the quiz start time
  • On arrival, participants will enter the main waiting room
  • The quiz organisers will then allocate participants to team breakout rooms based on registration details

Helpful (but not essential):
Please rename yourself in Zoom to include your team number.
Example:
John Smith → 1 John Smith (where 1 is your team number)

Step 4 – Arrive Early and Socialise

Once in your team room, you can:

  • Meet and chat with your teammates
  • Nominate a team member to submit answers using the Zoom Chat function

Step 5 – Introduction from the Quizmaster

  • 10 minutes before the quiz starts, team rooms will close
  • All participants will return to the main room (muted)
  • The Quizmaster will explain the quiz format

Step 6 – Question Rounds

  • Questions will be read out twice in the main room
  • After each round, teams will return to their breakout rooms
  • Use this time to discuss and agree on your answers
  • The team spokesperson should record the final answers

Step 7 – Answers and Scoring

  • After approximately 7 minutes, teams return to the main room
  • The Quizmaster will reveal the answers

Scoring:

  • 1 point per correct answer (no half marks)
  • Teams mark their own answers (on trust)
  • The spokesperson submits the score via Zoom Chat

Example:
Team 1 Round 1 = 10

Step 8 – Continuing the Quiz

Once all scores for the round are received and confirmed, the Quizmaster will proceed to the next round.

Step 9 – Scoreboard

At the halfway point, a live scoreboard will be shared on screen.

Step 10 – Winners Announced

  • The Quizmaster will announce the winning team
  • In the event of a tie, a tiebreaker question will be used
  • Final scores will be displayed on screen

Prizes:

  • Gift vouchers worth £5 per team member
  • Maximum prize value: £40 per team
