On May 8th, the Club held its annual Charity Golf Day at Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club, with 17 teams enjoying a splendid day of golf, uninterrupted by rain. Following the golf, there was a dinner, which included a raffle, Heads and Tails, and an Auction. Around £5,700 was raised from the from the day and evening events. This will be used to fund our charitable events and projects during the year ahead.
The First Prizewinners were Price Bailey Llp, with the second prize going to the team of Hockey Veterans. Congratulations to both teams.
The prize for ‘nearest the pin’ went to Neil Ballard of Tees Law, with Mark Chalkley of Lever & Co taking the prize for the longest drive. The three winners for the 2s competition were Neil Ballard of Tees Law, Mark Chalkley of Lever & Co, and Alex Rennie of the Cricketers team. A special prize went to Simon Lindop, again of the Cricketers team, who achieved an eagle 3 on a par 5 - a very difficult feat!
Special thanks are due to Susie Hartley - ably assisted by Ann Busk - who ran and organised the golf aspect of the day.
It was a happy and rewarding day, enjoyed by participants and helpers equally.
