Our first attempt at running a Young Chef Competition

This year we are running a Young Chef Competition for the first time although it has been a Rotary Competition throughout Great Britain & Ireland for a number of years. We are delighted to be able to use the new Ayrshire College Campus in Kilmarnock and thank them greatly for their help and support, in particular John  Govan and Maggie Garrard. The judges for the event are Douglas Stevely from the Campus and Jim Millar from the Park Hotel.

Five students took part representing Grange Academy and St. Joseph's and we are greatly indebted to their teachers, Mrs Jamilia McDowal and Mrs Clare-Jane McErlean.

In the end Tamzin Corrins from St. Joseph's was adjudged the winner and our congratulations go to her along with a trophy for the Academy and one for Tamzin to keep. She will now go forward to the West of Scotland Final early in 2017.
