Charity Firewalk

Sun, Mar 24th 2024 at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

FIREWALK raising funds for charity and local groups. Details below. Register an interest at allanderrotary@outlook.com

Allander Rotary Firewalk

The Firewalk is being organised by Allander Rotary as a fund raising event for charities and organisations, in Bearsden, Milngavie and the surrounding area.  Allander Rotary has committed to the facilitation and costs associated with this event.  Firewalk Scotland will run the event that will be held at Milngavie Guide Hall on Sunday 24th March 2024.

Fire-walking is as old as humankind and is an incredible way to build teams, raise funds for charities, overcome fear and self-doubts, build your own confidence and have a night to remember for years to some.  For the participant it’s not just a firewalk, it’s an experience for both mind and body.

Firewalk Scotland have a proven track record for delivering high quality, safe events and has a well established reputation for being able to provide exciting, life changing events and courses.  Lee, from Firewalk Scotland, is an expert Firewalk Instructor and empowerment coach and has delivered thousands of events across the UK. Look at their website for photos from past fire walks and what goes on in the training. https://www.firewalkscotland.co.uk/

Anyone interested in participating should email allanderrotary@outlook.com to register.  On receipt of the request, confirmation of your registration along with payment details will be sent.

To participate a non-refundable Registration Fee of £50 requires to be paid and then a minimum amount raised to ensure participation (see dates and costs below).  A number of places have been allocated to a few charities that Allander Rotary support.  Places will be allocated on a first come basis and participation will only be confirmed when the Registration Fee has been paid.  Registration to raise funds for a charity can be paid via the charity to enable Gift Aid to be claimed.  Contact us to find out more.

The Registration date has been extended to 11th March which is the last date for payments of the Registration Fee.

A local organisation can book a place by paying the non-refundable Registration Fee.  This will enable them to ensure they have a place but to be able to take time to decide how to use the Firewalk to fund raise.  They will need to inform Allander Rotary a week before the event the name of the person who will be participating.

At registration, or immediately after confirmation of their place, the participant must confirm by email to allanderrotary@outlook.com  which charity or organisation they are raising funds for and the details of how they are collecting sponsorship.

Individuals may participate and elect who they are fund raising for.  If no organisation is declared as being supported any money collected over the Registration Fee shall be donated to Allander Rotary’s charity account which is used to support a number of local, national and international charities.

The event itself will last around 2 hours but you should arrive in good time ahead of the start time of 5.30pm with the firewalk scheduled for 7pm.  You must attend a 90 minute workshop prior to the fire-walk (otherwise how do you know what to do?)  This is an active session that will challenge you.  It’s not a sit around and just listen session.

Participants must be at least 16 years old at date of Firewalk.  If you wish you will be able to do at least two walks over the embers.

Spectators can’t sit in on the workshop (this includes children) however, they are very welcome to watch and cheer you on for the walk itself and should arrive around 15 minutes before the actual fire-walk ie 6.45pm.  Girl Guiding Dunbartonshire plan to offer refreshments for spectators as a fund raiser.

No phones on during the workshop or on the fire itself.  Other people are welcome to take your photographs and we don’t want to be fishing phones out of a fire.

If you are using this as a fundraiser for a group and would like pictures for your own publicity let us know and we can send you some for use.

If you have any questions please email allanderrotary@outlook.com
