Two long years since this inhumane war started!

We hope that our Ukrainian guests- we now call friends- feel welcomed in our town

The people of Dronfield and S18 have opened their homes and hearts to our guests

WeThe Rotary Club of Dronfield have worked to help our Ukrainian guests and also to send aid to Ukraine. We are proud to partner with Rotary Club Warsaw Wilanów International .

Our club donated £1000 sent to RC Warsaw Wilanow to purchase medical items within days of the war starting

Held a bucket collection Aldi UK (Dronfield)

and thanks to the generosity of our community sent over £2.500 to RC Warsaw Wilanow to fund essential food, water, vitamins and medicines

We have worked with Vodafone UK to give free SIM cards to Ukrainian guests in our area and throughout the UK

We organised a Welcome Afternoon for guests from S18, Chesterfield and Sheffield Dronfield Hall Barn. A lovely afternoon of fun and laughter.

Took a group 10 pin bowling

Organised a concert ‘Entertain for Ukraine’ a fabulous night of music with The Feel Good Fridays.

This raised over £3.000 which went to RC Warsaw Wilenow to fund essential medical supplies to Ukraine

Obtained a grant from the Rotary Foundation Disaster Response fund which was used  to buy warm winter coats and boots for our guests in S18. Many of our guests arrived with virtually what they were wearing and were not equipped for the cold weather

This grant also bought essential small items for our guests who were setting up their own homes

Worked with the Charity Shoe Aid who supplied 80 pairs of new shoes for our guests

We were asked if we could find a pair of inline skates for a young boy who’s beloved skates were in the rubble of his home. Shoe Aid had one pair of the right size and the joy on his face was wonderful to see.

Organised an ongoing bucket collection in local outlets this money is used to help our local guests

The churches in Dronfield have given them not only pastoral care but a safe space to meet

A second grant from RFUK Disaster Response fund enabled us to work with RC Warsaw Wilanow to send a large generator to a convent in Southern Ukraine housing 300 refugees

We are also supporting a local Aid Convoy purchasing camping gaz stoves to enable families and soldiers to cook a hot meal.

We have not forgotten our local S18 community supporting our local Foodbank. First Responders and many other local organisations

Our local lottery funds a lot of our work S18 it costs only £1 a week go to www.dronfieldrotary.org.uk to find the entry form and details
