Visit to Your Place – Tuesday 23rd June
Last night, some of us had such a lovely evening visiting the community garden known as Your Place. The lead on this wonderful project, Ernie Brown, kindly showed us around and we were all entertained and impressed in equal measure.
It truly is a haven of tranquillity in the most unlikely of spots – a real hidden gem right here in Grimsby. If you haven’t visited before, we would highly recommend it.
Your Place Grimsby is run entirely by volunteers from all walks of life and of varying abilities, where everyone really can contribute – because everyone can do something. Any produce grown is given back to the volunteers for free, with the simple message to “help themselves”. It’s equality and community spirit at its very best.
Afterwards, we all enjoyed a meal at The Punchbowl, with plenty of laughter and chatter. All in all, it was a fantastic evening and a great success.
Many thanks to Richard and Glenice, Graham and Christa, Jennifer and Ray, Shola, Pat, Hazel, Paul and Roger, Bernadette, Sandie and Isabel for joining in.
