All community groups are finding it hard to keep going to keep providing the support they have done and to grow develop an emerge after the pandemic.
Penrith Rotary Club are depleted in numbers and it’s time to re-grow, change, adapt and re-engage with our local community.
Our new President - John is keen to make some changes that will enable new members to take a new look at Rotary, develop our club together and value the fellowship we provide to each other.
Now is a great time to get in touch and take up a challenge and be part of our new Rotary year to bring forward important local and international.
Our club, annually, offers opportunities to get involved with our Golf Day, Swimathon, Trail Run, Young Musician. Supporting Children In Need with a Pudsey event, as well as street collections and supporting other events with marshalling car parking support and anything else we can. This gets Rotarians front row - right in the heart of the action - all for just getting involved and supporting others. We have several committees that work with local businesses and community groups, schools and make a difference to peoples lives.
We’re asking you to take another look at Rotary, another look at how YOU can make a difference in your local community, hear about national and international aid.
We regularly send Shelterbox to areas of need and we were able to send vital supplies to Ukraine via a local business who travelled there to take much needed food, clothing, toiletries etc.
If joining our club is a little daunting- how about becoming a ‘Friend of Rotary’ and give us your time to enable events to happen, we can promise a warm welcome and the feel good factor of making a difference right there & then.
We are also looking to engage with local businesses- corporate membership - volunteer your staff to support your local club & community.
What do YOU want from Rotary - let us know, come and tell us, or send a PM [not the Boris type]
Over the years Rotary has supported many, many local people through donations, by purchasing vital equipment contributing to large purchases. Sponsoring youth projects in and out of school, promoting RYPEN & RYLA- amazing experiences! We also support a local person annually to The Calvert Trust Calvert Trust to have a week of enrichment and development and to overcome their disabilities and do some incredible life changing activities.
We would very much welcome young people getting involved, develop your contacts, develop your connections, develop your outlook and take some value from the older generation.
Make 2022 your year of making a difference- to you, your local community and the world beyond.
