At the Club meeting on 16 May, we had a great turnout of twenty-two members to hear our Honorary member, Jim Boyd relate his connections to "A Good Story Line." The Line was the West Highland Railway line which was built to fill the gap between the main line to Inverness and the line to Oban and the West of Scotland. Photos of stations on the line then and now were displayed and this line really did go through the wildest areas of Scotland. For many members present, the talk stirred up memories of going from Fort William to Mallaig on a train pulled by a steam engine, reliving the trip to Hogwart's undertaken by Harry Potter. Or perhaps the memory was of being on the paddle steamer Waverley (the last sea-going passenger carrying paddle steamer in the world - trips available throughout the summer !!) Or maybe visiting one of the old stations like Tulloch or Corrour.
A great talk, lovely meal and a lively buzz of conversation.
