On Thursday 22nd April the Rotary Club of South Queensferry held its Annual Photographic Competition. For another year, the eighty-five entries from club members and their families were viewed virtually through Zoom. Alistair Pryde, a well-known Queensferry photographer, commented that in the six years he has been judging the competition, the standard of photography has increased remarkably both technically and creatively. To the Zoom audience of members and friends he explained what had led him to select a short list of thirteen shots from the field of excellent entrants. The theme of this year's compitition was 'Hope' and the Winner was Sheena Muncie, Lisa Falconer came second and the third prize went to Grainger Falconer. There were ten raffle prize winners and the proceeds of the competition will go to the charity Freedom From Fistula which treats women suffering from childbirth injuries in Africa. The charity has recently resumed operations after Covid forced it to close, and already twelve women have received treatment. The theme of next year's Photographic Competition is 'Home'.
President Irene Brownless thanked Alistair Pryde for judging the competition and Grainger Falconer for arranging it.
