On Thursday 1st October the Rotary Club of South Queensferry held a very well attended Business Meeting. Through the medium of Zoom, members discussed the way ahead for the club's proposed programme for Christmas and New Year. It is hoped that Santa's Sleigh will be able to make an appearance during the festivities, though there are serious difficulties with distancing which are still being considered.
The feasibility of producing another charity calendar is also under discussion.
Alan Brown announced that, having had to cancel this year's Rotary Forth Bridge Abseil because of covid restrictions, it would not now be possible to hold it in 2021 either because of construction work on the new Forth Bridge Visitor Centre. On a brighter note, plans are underway to explore means of holding a virtual Burns Supper and a proposal to support a clinic in Zambia is being progressed.
President Irene Brownless thanked the virtual audience for their support and said that the club had a programme of further virtual meetings and speakers arranged into next year.
