Rotary Wareham helping the community whilst having fun and meeting people !

We meet twice a month at the Springfield Country Hotel  on Tuesdays from 7-15pm. 

The Rotary Club of Wareham was chartered in 1972 and is very much a fun loving club made up of male and female members, with the common theme of friendship and providing service to the local community and wider support to Rotary International initiatives worldwide, such as Shelter Boxes and the eradication of polio.

We meet at the Springfield Country Hotel in Wareham, where we can catch up with friends, and meet visitors and guests who are always made most welcome by the membership.

Together we can make a difference.

Rotary Open Gardens 2026

"Wareham Rotary are delighted to announce that we raised £2,204.94 at our "Open Gardens" event on 20th June this year.

What a truly wonderful afternoon, as 12 beautiful gardens across Wareham opened their gates to visitors from near and far. From hidden gems and cottage gardens to the magnificent grounds of the historic Priory Hotel and the delightful gardens of Wareham Library, there was something to delight and inspire every gardening enthusiast.

In spite of very changeable weather the week before, we sold many tickets with grateful thanks to A F Joys and Sue Ryder and raised £2,204.94 for Rotary community projects and local charities.

A special highlight of the afternoon was the warm hospitality in one of the Rotarian's gardens, where visitors enjoyed a sumptuous cream tea and an irresistible selection of homemade cakes. Many agreed it was the perfect way to round off a leisurely stroll through some of Wareham's finest gardens.

A huge thank you to all the garden owners who so generously opened their gates, the volunteers who helped make the day run so smoothly, and everyone who bought tickets and supported the event. The overwhelming response and great attendance once again demonstrated the wonderful community spirit that thrives in our town.

12 gardens. Over £2,200 raised. Countless smiles.

Daffodil Party 2026

Wareham Rotary held their annual Daffodil Party on Saturday 14th March 2026. It was held in Wareham Parish Hall. An enjoyable afternoon was had by all. The guests played bingo, eat afternoon tea and had musical entertainment from Steve Whale who got everyone singing and clapping.

Tools for Self Reliance collection, January 2026

Thank you to everyone who brought along unwanted tools on Saturday 24th January 2026. The tools have been taken to "Tools for Self-Reliance" at Netley Marsh to be refurbished and packaged into sets ready for sending to Africa.

The collection at Sandford St Martin Primary School was a great success.

The tents are sturdy and have been used for years in some parts of the world after previous disasters. Last year shelterboxes were sent to the Rotary Clubs in Turkey and Syria to house those in need in light of the emergency following the series of earthquakes.
