Details your local Rotary Club is all about. There are links http://www.ribi.org and http://www.rotary.org which can tell you the Rotary story but what we try to do here is give you the local dimension of Rotary in Peebles. Hopefully, if you are interested you might wish to contact us by using the contact button above, speak to any Rotarian (you are bound to know one of us) or come to one of our meetings - you will be made most welcome.
We are a medium sized friendly club with 25 members of all ages and meet every Monday evening for a meal in the Tontine Hotel. Since our inception in 1946 we have contributed to Rotary efforts internationally and locally. In the last few years we have been involved in setting up a dental project in Nepal, a refuge for aids affected children in South Africa as well as contributing significantly to Rotary International projects towards the eradication of polio, provision of water, disaster relief and shelter boxes.Recent local projects have raised money for - Physiotherapy equipment at Haylodge Health Centre: MRI scanners at BGH: Tweed Wheels: Ishuze Youth Group: Peebles Players: Scouts, Guides and Beavers: Borders Children's Charity: Defibrillators in Peebles High Street: Kingsmeadows Catering: Bonnie Peebles And many more.
We work hard to raise money but most of all we enjoy ourselves in so doing. Look at our photo galleries.
