Primary Schools' Public Speaking Competition

This year's competition was held at Ballacottier Primary School - the 2017 winners. The 2018 winning school is St. John's Primary School.

Secondary Schools' Public Speaking Competition

The competition was held at Ballakermeen High School for the second successive year as they were winners in 2016 and again in 2017.

Winter Hill 60th Anniversary

A ceremony was held at Cooil y Ree Park, St. John's to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Winter Hill plane crash. A memorial event was also held in Horwich attended by a party of 24 from the Island.

Lunch Meeting

Our special guest was Honorary Rotarian His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor. Sir Richard entertained members with a talk highlighting some of the less successful episodes in his diplomatic career.

Summer Camp

Once again the Island's Clubs hosted a party of young people from a wide variety of countries as part of the District Summer Camp. Activities included a ride on the Great Laxey Mines railway and taking part in the Ramsey Carnival.

Senior Schools' Public Speaking Competition

The competition was held at Ballakermeen High School who were 2016 winners. All 6 Secondary Schools competed and the standard was extremely high. The eventual winner was Ballakermeen High School - two years in a row!

Primary Schools' Public Speaking Competition

The competition was held at Marown School who were the 2016 winners. 8 teams competed for the Shield this year and after the usual high quality competition the victors were Ballacottier. Arbory were 2nd and Marown 3rd.

Senior Schools' Public Speaking Competition

The senior teams will be doing battle for the honour of being the 2016 winners of this annual competition.

Lunch - Business Meeting

Our guests at lunch today are Mark Lalor-Smith with his parents Julian & Sara and his siblings Terence and Courtney. Mark will be presented with a Junior Recognition award for his efforts in raising £3,000 to buy Shelterboxes.

Royal Manx Agricultural Show

For the first time in its history, the Club will have a stand at the Royal Manx Show, highlighting the Club's involvement in the local community and on the wider world stage.

District Summer Camp 2015

The Isle of Man Rotary Clubs hosted the District Summer Camp participants for 3 days.

Lunch Meeting at 1.00 pm

This will be a special lunch for World Polio Day. There will be a number of surprises before during and after lunch and the Hotel will be preparing some appropriate food for us. This lunch will be talked about for a long time - Do Not Miss It!

Rudolph Christmas Visits 2013

Rudolph will be visiting mores schools than ever this year and will finish his travels in Strand Street on 21st December.

Inter Club Quiz Night

Annual Quiz competition between the 5 Manx Rotary Clubs. After a hard fought competition the winners for 2013 were defending champions, Rushen & Western Mann. Congratulations to them, commiserations to Douglas who were a close second again.

Rudolph Christmas 2012

Rudolph once again visited a number of Douglas Primary Schools in December as well as going to Rebecca House and other points around the town.
