Young Artist Competition 2016/17

Here are the results of this years Young Artist Competition:

  • Age 7-10
    • Winner- Maia Beresford from St Mary and Michael School, Garstang - nominated by R.C of Garstang & Over Wyre
    • Runner up - Jia Tejada - nominated by R.C of Garstang & Over Wyre
    • Highly commended- Lauren Brook – Brough Community Primary School – nominated by R.C of Upper Eden
  • Age 11-13
    • Winner- Faiqah Rehman- Clitheroe Royal Grammar School - nominated by R.C of Clitheroe
  • Age 14-17
    • Winner- Amy Tomlinson from Highfield Leadership Academy - nominated by R.C of Blackpool South
    • Runner Up - Codie Cooper- School- nominated by R.C of Blackpool South
    • Highly Commended- Maddison Scharmann- nominated by R.C of Blackpool South

This competition is for young people in District 1190 (Cumbria & Lancashire) and there will be no Regional Final or National Final

Entrants were asked to submit one picture using any medium or combination of media e.g.Water colour, pencil, charcoal, pastels, collage, and acrylic. Pictures had to be no larger than A1 size (594mm x 841mm) and could be on paper or canvas.

Each entrant gave a title to their work and could, if they wished, provide a description of no more than 50 words for their inspiration and how they had chosen to reflect the theme.

The judging criteria was:

  • Imagination & style
  • Content and composition
  • Interpretation of the theme

All entrants will receive a participation certificate from their sponsoring Rotary Club. Winners & those placed will be awarded a prize.
