Jerry Green set up and gave his name to the Jerry Green Dog Recue centre in 1961. Centres  are situated in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. It is a charitable organisation.

Bethan Killermane and Sophie Evans were our speakers today and both are responsible for fund raising and were from the centre at Broughton.

Bethan said “What do we do?”

We rescue dogs, find them a new home, train them, provide healthcare  and advice to potential owners. A dog needs companionship and feeling of  safety.

We do not encourage visitors to the kennels because this upsets the dogs. If you need a rescue dog, they will match the dog to you and your home. There is an adoption fee.

Before  going to a new home the dog has a full health care - eg worming, vaccines etc and if needs be neutering.

President Stuart presented them with a cheque.
