ROTARY CLUB OF BRIDGE OF ALLAN & DUNBLANE
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW 2021

Introduction
Environment is one of Rotary International’s Areas of Focus and in June 2021 the Rotary Club of Bridge of Allan & Dunblane appointed an Environment Officer.
This review document has been compiled from reports and contributions from a number of BofA&D Rotarians whom I thank for their submissions. 

 Administration
Paperless communication by email is generally the norm.
The Club website is used to provide general information for Club members, as well as details of activities and events.
Social media (Facebook, Twitter etc) is also available for those who subscribe.

Meetings
Car sharing by Rotarians and their guests, so far as is reasonably practicable.
A limited menu option reduces food waste by the hotel.
Hybrid meetings being considered by Club Council.
Keep Scotland Beautiful Chief Executive Barry Fisher guest speaker at our 29/07/21 meeting. 

Events
Car sharing as before, so far as is reasonably practicable.
Cups, plates and cutlery reused or recycled SFARP.
Non-recyclable waste segregated SFARP.
Club contributes to and supports the work of Friends of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane Development Trust/ Dunblane in Bloom.


Recent Projects
Purchase and planting of 400 Dogwood shrubs (four varieties) in Memorial Park, BofA.
Planting of 2,000 crocus corms in BofA and a further 2,000 in Dunblane with the help of pupils from Beaconhurst and Bridge of Allan Primary Schools, also Newton and St Mary’s Primary Schools, Dunblane.
BofA&D Rotary Club branded pavement planters installed in both towns.
