Yorkshire Day 2020

What a special day this was!

This was the first time our members have been together (in person) since lockdown and what a fabulous day we had.

We all congregated at Cannon Hall with our picnics and sat at a safe distance to each other.

Our new President Ray White has been in the role since July but this was the first opportunity to officially hand over the chain of office to him.

We also had the opportunity to present Rtn Nigel Mackfall's Paul Harris Fellowship to his widow Rtn Laura Mackfall who said she will wear the badge with pride.

Unfortunately we had some bad news this week. A past President of Stainborough Rotary, Rtn David Greensmith who had moved to Cyprus had been walking in the Troodos Mountains and had fallen and sadly passed away. The club took the opportunity to have a minutes silence remembering the fun times we had with him and also thinking about his family. As one of our Rotarians said he was one of the clubs biggest characters, with a capital C.

As you will see there were many flat caps, (Cat flaps!) Yorkshire Flags, white roses and Yorkshire puddings in evidence.
