Minutes of a Membership Services Committee meeting held on 23rd July 2019 at the Seven Stars Kingsbridge
PRESENT: Robin Rose-Price (chair), Phil Gunnell, Richard Cropper, Chris Miller and Bill Beare

MINUTES of the committee meeting on 28th May were confirmed.
RECRUITMENT OF NEW MEMBERS
Fiona Bennett’s[1] husband may be interested.
Agreed to hold a membership evening on 15th October.
LUNCHTIME CLUB
Agreed that we should not approach them to amalgamate but see if any approach comes from them. The capacity of our venue needs to be borne in mind.
AWAY DAYS/WEEKEND
Insufficient time to arrange one for the autumn but spring 2020 is a possibility. Interest is to be gauged at the next business meeting and subject thereto enquiry to be made of 41 Club as to the date of theirs.
PROGRAMME
Tuesday 10th September. Chris will investigate the possibility of a shooting evening at Bolberry.
Tuesday 17th September. The speaker(s) will be from Kingsbridge Food Bank.
Tuesday 8th October. No meeting in view of the Swimarathon on Friday.
Tuesday 15th October. Membership evening. The speaker(s) will be from Salcombe Dinghy Sailing who hope to set up a scheme to fund children, those with disabilities, dementia sufferers etc. to learn to sail.
Tuesday 29th October. Possibly Ten Pin Bowling. Robin to investigate.
Tuesday 19th November. Speaker(s) from the Primrose Trail.
Tuesday 10th December. Christmas Party. Phil and Robin will make preliminary visits to the Cottage Hotel.
BRANDED CLOTHING
Agreed that this should in future comply with current Rotary branding standards (i.e. like the logo at the top of these minutes). Yellow embroidery preferred.
YOUNG ENTERPRISE SCHEME
Bill pointed out that it is a condition of this scheme that all who act as mentors must be DBS checked. It is thought possible that the YE Scheme will pay for this.
SCATTER NIGHT
A possibility for the New Year but it will need to be organised properly.
