Youth Speaks 2018

Public Speaking is Alive and Well at Keswick School

Two teams of pupils from Keswick School entered the local Rotary Public Speaking Competition this month and both qualified to go forward to the District Competition in February.

Darcy Rawlinson, Ashia Cannon, Benjamin Guest, Amelia Crawford, Jody Rafferty and Emily Jardine are pictured here together with their teacher Colette Phillips and Rotarians Paul Bowmer and Gill Frances.

The topics chosen were ‘Why is Gender Equality still relevant in the 21st century?’ and ‘Violence in the Media: does it really affect us?’ The judges spoke highly of the main speeches and also commended the performances of the pupils who introduced the speakers and proposed the votes of thanks.
