Community Committee 2016/17

Our community committee organises events and actvities for the benefit of our Forres community.

Goals:

  • Build the activities programme on a strong, tried and tested, foundation.

Activities:

  • The very popular spring and autumn coffee mornings will continue to be important fund raising events for the club.

  • Funds raised will be used to support the highly successful Senior Citizens afternoon tea party although we will, once again, seek additional funding assistance from outside of the club.

  • Following the excellent public response we received for the Blood Pressure monitoring event at Tesco’s Forres, we will hold a similar session in 2017 to coincide with Stroke Awareness day.

  • Once again we will work with Tanya, and the team at the Forres Gazette, to find Forres’s Citizen of the Year to highlight, and give recognition to, the huge community spirit of the people of Forres and surrounding area.

  • Whilst the Helge’s Hole project is ostensibly under the control of the community committee it should be thought of as an overall club initiative.  We will look to review the long term aims of the project and link in with other interested groups that use the Cluny Hill woods.

  • In an effort to combine fun, culture and a bit of fund raising, we hope to arrange an art & photography exhibition with the exhibits being auctioned off for charity.  We intend to join forces with the Youth Committee and dovetail dates to allow contributions from the “Young Photographer of the Year” competition to be exhibited and work with the Social Committee to make the event a “one not to miss” on the clubs social calendar.

  • Support Piping at Forres

Groups and Committees

back We organise ourselves into "committees", informal groups that arrange specific areas of the our service to the community and internationally, and social events.
