Geoff Bartrum had two surprise visitors when he formally joined the Aireborough Club. Joining him with the help of Skype was his proposer Graham Davies and his wife Morag from their campervan in faraway Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand. Graham on a belated 'gap' holiday following his retirement had entrusted his droll words of introduction about Geoff, recently retired from the London Fire Service, to Brian Whitham, the Club's very own technical guru. On this occasion Brian handled the problems of trans hemisphere links with his accustomed panache.
A month later there was no such luck when, despite a strong signal, the Club tried to call Graham back whilst he was visiting our sister Club in Unley, Adelaide. There were fleeting glimpses of the Unley members but no opportunity for the normal friendly banter.
