Most of us have family 'snaps' taken long ago at a christening when a new baby has arrived and it was an opportunity to record four generations together.

Photographs were only taken at very special events and were a treasured part of family history.

In 1925 Parkers of Woolston opened their door to provide help and services to snappers struggling to obtain the best results from their box cameras. Ninety years later we now take photographs on our mobile phones under such adverse conditions that ten years ago would have challenged professional photographers.

Steve Parker will tell us how 'Parkers Photographic copes with the current demands and what lies ahead.

After the meeting closes Steve will hold a valueation session for anyone with cameras or equipment they no longer use. That Contax, Leica or Agfa Isetta may be your treasure in the attic.
