Barbara Compton is a graduate of thr University of Manchester and later completed a Masters Degree in housing at the University of Bristol. She has worked in a wide range of housing and regeneration activities over the last twenty five years at a number of local authorities including Bath and North East Somerset and Kennet District Council.  In 2002 she was seconded to GOSE to work on production of the South East Regional Housing Strategy.

She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and is currently Head of Development, Economy and Housing at Southampton City Council and leader of the PUSH Housing Group.
