Abbots Vale Respite Care

Tue, Apr 8th 2014 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

The activities at the Barrow Abbotsvale Community Centre – particularly their Respite Care Scheme – were explained to members of Barrow Rotary Club at their weekly meeting.

Jean Waiting told how the centre has had its use increased since it was opened 15 years ago. With their Cheeky Monkeys nursery, health visitor sessions, two dance classes (both ballet and tap), cookery sessions and other activities, only a handful of sessions places were now available.

She told how they also collect for the Food Bank, how they answer the Shoebox appeal that provides gifts at Christmas and the availability of computers for people to use.
