A Life On The Ocean Waves.

The Royal Navy brought Mike Lovell, our newest member, to Barrow.

He was born in Northern Nigeria, his father being in the tin mining industry. It was only due to the threat posed by Rommel in North Africa that the family was sent back to the UK and settled in Stratford-on-Avon.

When he gave his job talk to club members he said that as his father had spent most of his life in Africa, Mike thought that getting out to see the world was a good idea.

The Royal Navy was his choice and he did his basic training in Plymouth.
