Goals:
Improve attendance of whole club at social events
Pilot new ideas with “low risk” approach
Run a number of attractive events
Activity Ideas - watch the diary for event dates as they're arranged!
Hold the occasional mini-social during our weekly meetings on Thursday lunch times; this may take the format of a table quiz or similar, just to gauge the level of interest that exists within the club.
For the slightly larger steps, instead of organising our own social events and pushing for numbers why don’t we piggyback on someone else’s do? For example the Illyria outdoor actors will be at Logie Steading twice this year (13 Jul & 10 Aug) and it is a fantastic evening, you take your own chairs, picnic beforehand and drink and laugh at the antics on stage (not forgetting your poncho in case a rogue shower passes over!).
The Old Mill at Brodie hosts an open mic night where amateur musicians can go along and try their hand in front of live audience, and it is a very entertaining evening so let’s try it.
26 May in the Tolbooth, called Meeting Ronnie, where Ronnie Browne, that guy fae the Corries, will be talking about the two thirds of his life that he was not in the band as well as those celebs he did meet while on the road.
Nairn have similar problems with organised evenings so we will try a joint social with them in the hope that we can form a ‘critical mass’; i.e. enough folk to make a party from the two clubs.
This year the club started the Fellowship Dinners and as this is such a good idea it is planned to continue with them.
