On Saturday the 17th of June fifteen primary school children from local schools St Andrews Chinnor, St Teresa's Catholic School Princes Risborough, Naphill and Walters Ash, Aston Rowant, Griffin House, Cuddington and Dinton C of E School, Hughenden, and Great Kingshill gathered at St Teresa's Catholic School for a fun chess competition sponsored and organised by The Rotary Club of Princes Risborough.
The presentation of prizes was carried out by Mr. Paul Woodward-Court President Elect of The Rotary Club of Princes Risborough.
The winner Luke Rayfield of St Andrews Primary School Chinnor received a cup.The runner up Frederick Hulett of St Teresa's received a shield.All children taking part received a Certificate of Merit."
The event went well and the children all enjoyed themselves with no tears or tantrums! Thanks must go to two non Rotarians Mr Brian Lacey and Mr Mike Turton who help enormously with the event.
Thanks also to Mike Huxley who spent the morning meeting and greeting and generally helping out.
