The Princes Risborough Rotary Interact Club was founded in 2010 and has steadily grown in strength and popularity at the school. It has keen backing from staff and parents as well as from Rotary. It now has 25 members of Y12 and Y13 students.
In the time since inauguration numerous charities have been supported by the Club including Save the Children, Children in Need, Help the Heroes, Breast Cancer, Cancer Research, Gt. Ormond St. Hospital, The British Heart Foundation, Air Ambulance, a school in Tanzania, Dream Flight and several other good causes.
In order to raise funds for all these various charities members have organised Cake sales, a Disco, raffles, a custard pie throwing competition, sponsored bike ride, Christmas Fair stalls, designed and produced Valentine cards for sale, taken part in Dragon Boat races and run a Quiz Night for parents, friends and Rotarians. In the form of community support Club members have annually helped with Kop Hill Climb and the Rotary Bonfire Night.
They support the Rotary activities arranged for Young Carers .The Interactors also have an ongoing project - the Dementia Caf at the Princes Centre. They have partly financed a Smart TV so that it can be used to stimulate the memories of those suffering dementia problems.
Social events for members have included a gliding evening, a sailing day and a night out at a Chinese restaurant.
Good news on Thursday morning, 30 April 2015, Peter King, the National President of Rotary International in GB and Ireland, accompanied by District Governor Tim Cowling, visited the Princes Centre to present Rotary Interactor President Matt Ludlow and other Interactors from the Princes Risborough School with the trophy for the best Interact Charity Project of the year.
