YOUTH EVENTS
RYLA enables a young person aged 16 or 17 on the event date to attend a demanding and stimulating leadership course of six days duration at an isolated camp near Hebden Bridge during the summer holidays. Participants work together in four groups of eight and find the experience to be exceptionally rewarding. Parental consent is required. A place on this course is fully funded by Settle Rotary Club.
We will contact secondary schools around January/February each year to invite nominations and the successful candidate will be selected by interview.
Secondary school staff can assist the process by bringing the award to the early attention of pupils. Those who are interested should put their names forward to the school and provide a short proposal (250 words or less) about themselves and why they are applying.
