Welcome to the Rotary Club of Hounslow.
The Rotary Club of Hounslow was chartered in November 1929 by a group of businessmen who were keen to meet regularly to exchange business and return something of benefit to their community. The 24 Founder Members were drawn from mainly Hounslow High Street shops and offices. Today, our membership represents a broad range of professions and backgrounds, and reflects the diversity of the London Borough of Hounslow.
The club's philosophy "getting more out of life working together for others" sums up our approach. We are young-hearted, good-humoured, and keen to add the professional touch. It is said we enjoy an esprit de corps worthy of the best organisations.
The Club runs a programme of social events, many of which are open to non-members.
These events have helped to forge a strong sense of
fellowship and goodwill between members, as well as with the community at
large. The Club's fundraising activities support local, national
and international charitable causes.
Networking and fellowship play a major part in Rotary with many links between local and international clubs that foster friendship and cultural exchange as well as the management of larger aid programmes.
Rotarians use their professional skills and contacts to work at grassroots level to promote peace and understanding through an array of humanitarian and educational programs that address the underlying causes of conflict, such as poverty, illiteracy, hunger, drought, and disease. Hounslow Rotary Club gives its members opportunities to help people in need wherever they live, from supporting local charities and schools to helping AIDS orphans in Africa.
Rotary has no political or religious agenda and is open to men and women of all ages who have the desire and ability to serve the community.
Although joining Rotary is ultimately by invitation, if you would like to know more you are encouraged to get in touch and attend a few meetings so we can all get to know each other. We will be delighted to hear from you. We also welcome enquiries from organisations who wish to explore ways of joining with us in a cooperative venture, or who would like to help in any other way with our existing programmes.
If you know a Hounslow Rotarian speak to him or her, otherwise contact our Club Secretary through this website.
