Philippines Flooding update

Good morning to all District International Service Chairmen, Club Presidents, and my fellow Rotarians
Further to update 11 (21 December) describing the devastating typhoon (Washi) that struck the island of Mindanao, Southern Philippines on Friday, 16 December and our planned response. The consignment of Water-Survival Boxes sent to the head of De La Salle College reached Manila airport yesterday afternoon (23rd) and this morning we received the following message from Franciscan Brother Aikee:
Goods came in last night and were released this morning. Thanks also to the help of the Bureau of Customs. I decided to endorse it to the Department of Education since they badly need it in the schools which became evacuation centers and this helped us gather resources to get all of these moving. We sought the help of the Armed Forces to bring it from the airport and the Navy to ship it. They were supposed to ship it on Monday but I heard that they were meeting to hopefully ship tomorrow. It will be received by a representative of the Department of Education in Iligan City where it will be sent to those who badly need it. -
