Rotaract

We promote the Rotaract Programme within the District boundary. While recent changes mean that people aged 18 to whatever upper age the club decides could join Rotary directly, many prefer Rotaract because it's less expensive.

The role of Rotarians in sponsoring a Rotaract Club is to show interest and to mentor this group who are adults in their own right. Rotaract is responsible for its own programme and its own direction. There is no Governance or financial support requirement from a sponsering club.

Rotarians with their many skills and experiences can add value to planning and fulfilment. This process brings benefits to both Rotary and Rotaract Clubs.

Age for Rotaractors is now 18 to whatever the club decides and the present cost of membership to RI is just 8$ (less than £7 per year). Rotaract year is January 1st to December 31st. There is no longer a one-off fee to RI to register the club with RI.

Rotaract members are full members of RI and their membership counts to the total number of Rotary members. A member can also serve on District Committees and District Officers.

Any Rotary Club considering forming a Rotaract Club should contact Mike Lade (mikelade1975@gmail.com or Mob: 07803 038858) to arrange an initial conversation.
