Celebrating 60 Years of Service

On Sunday 9th March, Rotary Club of Shepshed held a surprise celebration to honour Robert Hall, who has achieved an INCREDIBLE 60 YEARS of active service in our club. Club members, friends and family gathered for the event, with our District Governor, Chris Knight, presenting a recognition certificate signed by the Chair of the Board of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland.

In addition to the certificate, there were fantastic displays of photographs and newspaper articles, depicting fundraising events from the last 60 years. Robert has been actively involved with these and remains so today. 

These activities have benefited the Shepshed community and international good causes. Robert cut a novelty celebration cake, and club President Ngaire interviewed him to reveal some of his amusing stories during 60 years of membership, including being President of the club in three separate years. A poem was read to mark the occasion.
