The 2024/25 District Final of Young Chef was held at Loughborough College on Saturday 22nd February. Nine young people aged from 13 to 15 took part and the standard of cooking was extremely high.
The three judges, all of whom are professional chefs, were in total awe of the food produced and admitted that their job was ,very, much more difficult than they had envisaged.
All nine contestants were commended by the judges and also by those who attended who were lucky enough to sample the produce!
The winner was Aggie Wells, 15 years old, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kibworth and Fleckney.
Runner up was Lewis Strong, 14 years old, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Blaby.
Both received bespoke chefs jackets as prizes and progressed to the Regional Final
