Club News & Events

Around the East Midlands, all clubs are actively working on projects to help improve their local communities, as well impact communities internationally. They also hold events to raise funds for good causes that are supportted by Rotary.

The following are just some of the activities and past events from our clubs.

Club Activities

Ambulance and Equipment for Ukraine - Towcester Rotary 

The Rotary Club of Towcester have raised funds to purchase an Ambulance and medical equipment to aid paramedics in Ukraine. Steve Challen from TOVE BENEFICE and his driver Alex Donaldson will be driving the 1,350 miles to Lviv in Ukraine. The ambulance was packed with all sorts of medical equipment badly needed in the Ukraine. 

 

This task was undertaken by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Towcester and St Lawrence's church. Funding for the purchase of the ambulance was provided through the Rotary Club from monies raised at last year's F1 Grand Prix. This is an example of how Rotary supports communities around the world.

Loughborough Rotary in  Parliament

Following a visit to the Rotary Club of Loughborough Beacon, MP Jeevun Sandher celebrated the work of Rotary in Parliament.

NEW ! - Ukrainian Impact Club of Rutland

The Ukrainian Rotary Impact Club of Rutland, officially launched in November 2024, is the first Ukrainian Rotary Club in the UK. It was established with the support of the Rotary Club of Rutland and nearby clubs, including those in Uppingham and Melton. This initiative has attracted a committed group of around fifteen members who are already working on impactful projects. Their inaugural endeavor involves collecting medical equipment such as wheelchairs and crutches to aid people in Ukraine who are in need of mobility support.
