The Rotary Club of Wellingborough Hatton have done a terriffic job of completing their project of building a patio area and pergola at the Isebrook Hospital, Wellingborough, to give patients and staff an outside area where they can relax.
The Start! The Finish!
A really great team effort and another step forward. With table, chairs and pots to complete the area under the pergola, they will continue weeding, tidying and pruning ready for their replacement program of shrubs and perennials.
The Pergola Team consisted of Jim, Brian, Duncan, Paul C, Paul H, Eamon, Leo, Bryan and their cheerful supporter Alan Waller.
It is also encouraging to see some of the 4000 crocus showing in the areas planted 18 months ago becoming established.
The crocus planting reminding us each year of Rotary’s involvement which was launched as PolioPlus in 1985 and was a founding member of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988.
Through decades of commitment and work by Rotary and our partners, more than 2.5 billion children have received the oral polio vaccine. Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralysing disease. Rotary's advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by governments to contribute more than $10 billion to the effort.
