Jasmine Harrison

Three times world record holder & Rotary Young Citizen 2023

Jasmine Harrison is a British adventurer who loves to travel and tackle new challenges. She achieved world-wide recognition in 2021 when aged 21 years she became the youngest solo female to row the Atlantic Ocean in 70 days proving that age, gender and background are no barrier to a positive mind-set. She is keen to encourage everyone to be self-reliant and if someone wants to take on a personal challenge, of any level, then they should just do it!

The Atlantic row, dubbed the ‘World’s Toughest Row’ saw Jasmine row up to 20 hours a day in conditions from flat calm to 10-metre-high waves with lows of capsizes, injuries and physical exhaustion to the highs of amazing wildlife and sunsets travelling over 3000 miles from La Gomera, Canary Islands to Antigua.

In 2022 Jasmine became the first female (and third person ever) to swim the full length of the British Isles from Land’s End to John O’Groats, 900 miles, in 110 days.

On 11th March 2026 Jasmine completed the Mini Globe Race, which is a solo sail around the world in a home-made 5.8m long yacht. She started as a relatively novice sailor in the Mini Globe transatlantic from Lagos, Portugal to Antigua via Lanzarote in December 2024 and then continued into the Mini Globe Race from Antigua in February 2025. There were only two female entrants, 11 international sailors finished and she was the youngest competitor. She sailed solo across the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans via Panama and Fiji (main stops), she arrived in Cape Town in December 2025 and then crossed the southern Atlantic Ocean to Brazil and returned to Antigua in March 2026, a total voyage of 28,000 miles.

Whilst on a 7 day pitstop in St Helena she swam around the island, the first person to attempt to do so taking 18.5 hours to swim 30 miles. She has experienced amazing wildlife, storms, calms, currents, other shipping, breakages and equipment failures, sleep deprivation, pollution, beautiful remote islands and incredible hospitality around the world. She was supported by Rotary Clubs and individual Rotary members from the UK and Europe.

In July 2026 Jasmine completed an English Channel swimming relay in honour of the first woman to swim the channel solo in 1926.

Having raised over £30k for environmental causes, including Shelter Box, The Blue Marine Foundation, Surfers Against Sewage and Sea Shepherd UK she remains a keen advocate for ocean health sharing her stories through talks and motivational speeches.

Jasmine was awarded a Rotary Young Citizen Award in 2023. She is a Forbes 30-under-30 lister, a double Guiness World Record holder, a sailing squadron associate of the Royal Yacht Squadron, was awarded the RYS Chichester Award in 2026, and holds the freedom of her hometown Thirsk, North Yorkshire. She was also awarded the Ocean Cruising Club Jester Award 2025. When at home, Jasmine loves to be with her dogs and she works as a swimming teacher, lifeguard and motivational speaker.
