August 2026 Update

I imagine that many of you have been enjoying some time away, or are anticipatingsuch, although the busyness of Rotary life continues as the new year gets under way. ShelterBox is no exception and so I have a couple of bits of good news to share with you all this month.

First of all, it was heartening to receive news that we have a new Rotary Engagement Officer at ShelterBox. Her name is Morven MacGillivray, and she has just joined the ShelterBox Team in this role. She is delighted to have joined such an incredible organisation, and, being resident in Glasgow, is really looking forward to working with us all as we support the work of ShelterBox.

Morven has also let me know that two clubs in the District – Elgin and Thurso – have been awarded Bronze Level Partner Club Status for raising over £2,000 for ShelterBox in the 2025-2026 Rotary Year. It is encouraging to learn of such commitment, although it is but one manifestation of the generosity of clubs in our district, most recently in respect of the recent Stock the Box and Venezuelan Earthquake Appeals. Thank you all very much indeed for this support which, I know, comes despite so many calls upon our fund-raising efforts.

I am looking forward to further visits to clubs and events over the next few weeks, but if you would like me to support you in your efforts or give a talk please do not hesitate to contact me.
