The Tiger Widows Organisation provides families with alternative incomes and livelihoods so that they can stay out of the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve in the Bay of Bengal.
Men are often attacked and killed by tigers when they go fishing, collecting firewood, fruit, honey etc. The widows and their families are then left to fend for themselves. The people who live there are very poor, marginalised and destitute.
