The Community and Vocation Committee of the Rotary Club of Abergavenny is responsible for ensuring that the funds raised by the Club are used for the benefit of good causes in the community. This can vary from helping individuals to supporting clubs and societies that work in the community to help people who are less fortunate than others and need additional help and encouragement.
The Committee also organises events such as days out for children with special needs and Christmas parties for children in hospital.
The Committee contributes to the funds available for the benefit of good causes by organising an annual "Swimathon" at the Abergavenny Leisure Centre. No only does this event raise money for good causes but it also provides a fun day for numerous clubs and societies to compete against other clubs in the relay swimming that is the basis of the event.
