Our Marisa Matters project October 2024

Update from Forever Angels

Update about Mugwe, received on 21 October

Mugwe is doing so well in her Grandmother's loving care.  Her Grandmother is a very elderly lady and I can not imagine how difficult it is for her to raise a newborn - but she is doing such a great job.

She brings Mugwe every week to our centre at Forever Angels to weigh her granddaughter and collect milk.  She is taking part in the weekly training workshops we hold and this is the first education she has ever received - Mugwe's Grandmother never had the opportunity to go to school so she is really enjoying the learning.

They live an 8 hour round trip from Forever Angels - and have to take three buses and a ferry to get to us!  Her Grandmother does this every single week to collect milk and is so dedicated to her care.  She is amazing.

Thank you so much for enabling this wonderful Bibi to care for Mugwe - she really is thriving in her care.

Thank you so much for supporting Lucy, Joyce and Esther on our Maisha Matters programme.  These beautiful baby girls are so well in their Mama's loving care.

She brings them each week to collect milk and be weighed and even that is a feat in itself - there are no pushchairs in Tanzania as the roads are too bad - she straps them onto her back in a Kanga (brightly coloured cloth) and carries them.  She is amazing!

The babies are all gaining weight really well and we love to see them growing and meeting new milestones when they come each week.

Thank you so much for your kind support - these triplets are just adorable.

Love from Amy and all at Forever Angels
