The Borough art competition culminated in the prizegiving on 11th March. The Mayor of Kingston presented the prizes at the Rose Theatre. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, there was a record number of over 700 entries and the standard of work from the pupils was amazing. Eliot Newton the Biodiversity Officer for the borough of Kingston Upon Thames gave a little speech which left the children spell bound especially when he produced a stag beetle from his back pocket. As you know, the art competition was a joint project between New Malden, Kingston and Surbiton Rotary Clubs and was a great indication for future events.
