Award for Tim Dunkley at Christmas Dinner

Occasionally we recognise a member who has gone above and beyond in their endeavours to support our Club activities

We do this by giving the individual concerned a Paul Harris Award (Paul Harris was one of the founding members of what is now Rotary International).

At our Christmas Dinner last Monday, President Chris Harding presented Tim with the Award to recognise his 22 years with the Club.  Tim was accompanied by his wife and daughter and was, we think, the only one of the 69 members & guests not to know about his Award in advance (a Club tradition - risky but almost always successfully achieved).

Tim has been our Club Sports Officer for some time, organising and often participating in our inter-club District sporting events, and he continues to be a key member of our Christmas Collections Team.  Most significantly, every Donkey Derby for many years has seen Tim in the Control Caravan overseeing the event.  He is also a highly valued member of our Music in the Park Team.

Having only very recently retired, Tim has achieved all of this whilst working full time as a surveyor.  Congratulations TIm, the Award is well deserved.

The Club would also to thank Shield Security Services, based in Aldershot, for its generosity in providing the wine for the Dinner, a much appreciated gesture from a company that has expressed interest in becoming more closely associated with the Club in the future.
