Eddies Trail

The Eyemouth and District Rotary Club held the first sponsored walk on Eddie's Trail in memory of Eddie Kellie who sadly passed away in 2010. Eddie was the bank manager at RBS in Ayton before his retirement and a member of the Rotary Club for many years where he was the president in 2002. He was a keen curler, a walker and was closely involved with helping the community and the local High School on the Young Enterprise scheme. Eddie's trail was devised in 2012 as a circular walk around Eyemouth by the Rotary Club, in collaboration with the Scottish Borders Council and is featured as number 12 in the published book of walks “Paths” around Eyemouth and the Berwickshire Coastal Path. The route is scenic, several miles long, clearly signposted and takes about three and a half hours. Leaving Eyemouth the route follows the cliff path towards Coldingham, then turns inland from Linkim shore towards Ale Mill Bridge and round to the Eyewater path, past the old grain mill back into Eyemouth. We would like to thank all the people that supported this event in 2015 and would encourage them (and others) to join the Rotary event in the spring of 2016 to walk it again.
