Golders Green Rotarian David Max, 74, from Mill Hill passed away at North London Hospice in Woodside Avenue, North Finchley on Monday.
Mr Max, a jazz fan who played the drums as a youngster, organised concerts in aid of the hospice through his work with the North West Support Group.
David, who before his retirement was a solicitor at Bowers in Golders Green Road, had been a member of the Club since 1973, becoming president for the Rotary year 1980/81.
He was, for a number of years, Chairman of the International Committee at the club, organising our yearly meetings with members of our contact clubs at Meudon in France and Celle Schloss in Germany. He also helped set up and run the Pestazlozzi International Village Trust in Sussex which educates children from third world countries.
Before his death David had organised a jazz concert at Free Church Hall in Northway, Hampstead Garden Suburb to raise cash for North London Hospice. The concert will now be held in his honour on February 11 from 7.30-10.30pm
He will be missed by everybody in the club
