On 4 December the Balerno Christmas lights will be switched on and the evening will start with the Rotary Tree of Life celebration in front of the Balerno Parish Church.
Every year Currie Balerno Rotary invite local people to sponsor lights on the Tree of Life in memory of loved ones or to mark special events. The money donated has traditionally gone to local charities but last year it was dedicated to the Marie Curie Hospice in Fairmilehead, raising over £2000.
This year our own Don Macleod, who lost his wife Eileen to Motor Neurone Disease, has asked that the main beneficiary should be the Doddie Weir Foundation – My Name’s Doddie - to assist with research into MND. We invite everyone to support this appeal.

Come and join us. Join us, too, at the Balerno Farmers’ Market on Saturday 13 December and later at the Gyle, where we’ll be looking to gift-wrap your Christmas presents from Thursday 18 December through to Christmas Eve.
