The Pentland Community Chest is now funded and managed jointly by Currie Balerno Rotary and the Balerno Village Trust. Grants of up to £600 are made towards projects of value to the local communities in response to applications received from local clubs and organisations. These applications are considered in June and December each year.
In the half-year period to 30 November 2023 grants were awarded to the following:
Balerno and District Pipe Band
Balerno Children’s Gala Association
Pentlands Men’s Shed
Community for Food
Nether Currie Primary PTA
Compass Playgroup
Ravelrig RDA
Mill Café
Friends of the Pentlands
Harmeny Trust
Juniper Green Bowling Club
We are delighted to be supporting such a range of organisations, showing the Community Chest to be effective across our local community.
The next awards will be made in June 2024 in response to applications received by 31 May.
