Denis holds a number of Directorship roles associated with Sub Sahara Africa work undertaken by Rotary in conjunction with local partners. He spoke of the value of local and in country partners on various projects and emphasised the benefit of identifying the Need , Evaluating the Resource required ( both financial and in partnership), and Expected Outcome. The Rotary Global Grant scheme had been used extensively and he promoted its use to the Club. He gave as an example a project to re-establish a waste incineration unit in a village in Malawi. The planning work involved in working through the above steps in the project and with photographs showed the start of the construction of the new incinerator due to be commissioned in December 2021.
