He told us about the importance of having art in hospitals. .It gives a welcome and improves the experience of being patient or visitor in a hospital.
Grampian, Lothian and Fife have particularly good art displays and have received great praise from members of the public.
Fife, which is the health board John is particularly involved with, owns a wide range of art gifted and purchased over a number of years. The annual Shell prize, and the relationship with Fife College and local schools has brought many items.
Many health boards, for a small sum, rent pieces of art from Art in Healthcare to increase their collection. Workshops are run to help artists improve their talent. These have now moved online owing to Covid 19.
The public can help by buying greeting cards and buying prints. More details can be found on their web site.
